About JPS Health Network
The Tarrant County Hospital District, known as JPS Health Network, is a nationally recognized healthcare system dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care to all in Tarrant County. Anchored by John Peter Smith Hospital, a 582-bed facility in Fort Worth, Texas, JPS is home to the county’s longest-running Level I Trauma Center and operates one of the busiest emergency departments in the nation, making it a trusted leader in emergency and critical care.

Beyond the hospital, JPS expands access to primary, specialty, and urgent care through more than 25 community locations and medical homes, ensuring coordinated, comprehensive care across the county. The Network includes Acclaim Health (the JPS multispecialty physician group), and JPS Foundation, which raises private funding to support the mission of JPS and its programs and services.

JPS is the county’s largest training institution for physicians and advanced practice professionals, offering an expansive variety of residency and fellowship programs, including the nation’s largest hospital-based Family Medicine residency program. Through these specialized training pathways, JPS is shaping the future of medicine, preparing clinicians to thrive in high-acuity care environments and meet the evolving needs of the community. The network also drives medical discovery through clinical trials, outcomes-based research, and scholarly initiatives that improve patient care and advance public health.

Recognized as a leader in behavioral health, JPS is also the largest provider of inpatient, emergency, and outpatient mental health services in the region, ensuring access to comprehensive care for children, adolescents, and adults.

JPS is a two-time recipient of the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, a prestigious global recognition given to organizations that foster extraordinary employee engagement, innovation, and performance. This distinction highlights JPS’s commitment to cultivating a world-class workplace that empowers its team to deliver the highest quality care to the community.

As Tarrant County’s public health network, JPS is governed by an 11-member Board of Managers appointed by the Tarrant County Commissioners Court and remains committed to ensuring high-quality care for all, improving lives, and strengthening community well-being.
